We were founded in 1919 as a manufacturer of handmade Japanese paper. Now we produce newsprint and other types of paper for publishing, printing, information, and processing. In 2019, we took on a new challenge by entering the field of hygiene products, on our way to expand the scale of our business. Let us show you some of the efforts we are making toward a sustainable future through our business activities.
Our mission is to contribute to the realization of an environmentally conscious and sustainable society. In order to achieve carbon neutrality, we are committed to creating products with particular attention to raw materials, such as wood from forest thinning, planted trees, and recycled paper. With our technological capabilities cultivated through many years of ingenuity, we will continue to provide new value to society as we offer attractive proposals.
We believe in emphasizing open innovation, building optimal collaborative relationships with many companies and organizations, and expanding the "harmony of people" that creates the future. In addition to our existing power generation business, we are actively engaged in advanced businesses such as CNF（Cellulose nanofiber）, a next-generation material developed through joint research with universities and research institutes, and materials for civil work using recycled waste. Along with paper manufacturing, we are building a business foundation based on environmentally friendly biomass.
Entering and scaling up in the hygiene products field is one of our revolutionary initiatives. Our technological innovations and market sensitivity enable us to develop products that meet the needs of our customers. The road to new challenges is never smooth, but we will spare no effort to work together with local communities to protect the environment and build a sustainable future.
